Supervises members of the Historic Preservation Team (HPT), and manages the cultural resources review of development projects in accordance with applicable regulations under the general direction of the Cultural Resources Program Manager. Reviews and approves documentation required under 36 CFR 800.11 in support of environmental review under ADOT's assumption of Federal responsibility for Categorical Exclusions and ADOT's assumption of responsibility for NEPA Program Assignment.
Manages and oversees schedules, consultant contracts, budgets, the preparation of required documentation that is legally sufficient and defensible in the court of law, and coordinates timely completion of project deliverables for cultural resource analyses, consultation, permitting, and NEPA/Environmental authorizations in accordance with federal and state law. Tracks environmental deliverables and ensures that the HPT projects are delivered on-schedule. Advises management and project teams of potential environmental risk relating to the protection of cultural resources, and suggests resolution. Supervises the work of professional consultants.
