All members of the Arizona Archaeological Council are cordially invited to attend our 2017 annual conference on Friday October 6th at the Moose Lodge in beautiful Star Valley, AZ. The theme of this year's conference is Occupation of the Hinterlands. We purposely selected a broad topic to encourage a more diverse group of presenters, so please consider submitting an abstract. Abstracts are due by September 8th. Please send abstracts to aacboard@gmail.com with AAC Conference Abstract in the subject line.
We are excited to host this year's conference at a new location. And what self-respecting archaeologist can say no to pine trees, crisp fall air, and a venue with a bar attached? We encourage folks to stay the night; designated drivers will be available to transport people back to their hotels if needed.
Following Friday's conference, Scott Wood has graciously offered to give a tour of ongoing investigations at Goat Camp Ruin, a 25+ room pueblo located at the northern end of Payson. The tour will begin at 9:00am and likely last an hour.
Directions, conference schedule, and details regarding Saturday's site tour will be made available in the near future. We hope to see you all there!
