Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. of Tempe, AZ (ACS) is seeking resumes for several temporary Field Archaeologist or Field Technician positions. A Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology or a related field and several months of fieldwork are required to be considered a Field Archaeologist. Field Technicians might be working toward their B.A. and have some field experience. We are seeking experienced personnel who can assist us in both survey and excavation projects. The duties of these positions may regularly require standing, walking or climbing into and out of trenches and excavation units, using hands to manipulate items and to lift or carry them, talking, and hearing. They occasionally require crossing uneven terrain, climbing over fences, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. All employees must be able to follow instructions, ask questions when needed, be able to work independently once parameters have been set, and work cooperatively as part of a team, at both the project and company-wide levels.

Pay levels are competitive and commensurate with experience. These are project specific positions, and as a result are full-time, temporary positions. The one benefit that comes with these positions is holiday pay if the office is closed and the employee works the day before and the day after the holiday.

For additional information, interested parties should check “Job Opportunities” section of the ACS web site (http://www.acstempe.com). Please send current resume with a cover letter and the names and phone numbers/e-mail addresses of three references who can comment on your experience to: acs_jobs@acstempe.com. Please include the job title “Field Archaeologist” in the subject line of your e-mail. ACS does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. These positions are available immediately and are open until filled or September 30, 2015, whichever comes first.
