SENIOR ARCHAEOLOGIST

Job Description
We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Senior Archaeologists for our Arizona office. Role will be to successfully develop and manage archaeological projects to completion.
Duties:
• Perform all aspects (permitting, scheduling, coordination, hiring, research, fieldwork, etc.) of survey, excavation, and monitoring
• Develop and adhere to scopes and budgets
• Prepare work plans, research designs, and mitigation proposals
• Make evaluations and recommendations for significance, effect, and treatment of cultural resources
• Supervise field staff and ensure crew conducts field research properly and safely
• Prepare technical reports documenting results of fieldwork and research
• Assist clients with state, federal, and tribal cultural resource compliance
• Draft consultation letters
• Perform ceramic or lithic analysis (preferred)
Working Conditions and Environment:
This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. A working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.

Required Skills:
• M.A. or M.S. degree in anthropology or archaeology
• Minimum of 15 years of experience
• Knowledge of cultural resources in the Southwest
• Management experience
• Ability to work as a team member
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel
• Good driving record
• Perform fieldwork in adverse conditions and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment
