PMAP 2024 Geospatial Volunteer of the Year award

Congratulations to the Phoenix Mapping Archaeology Project (PMAP) team for receiving a 2024 Geospatial Volunteer of the Year award at the Arizona Geographic Information Council (AGIC) conference in Prescott. Supported by S'edav Va'aki Museum, the team is working on large-scale digitization of archaeological sites in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The team is led by City Archaeologist Laurene Montero and includes Zach Rothwell (Chronicle Heritage), Stephanie Sherwood (Desert Archaeology), Doug Mitchell (S'edav Va'aki Museum), Steve Rascona (ADWR, retired), Dr. Mary Whelan (ASU, retired), Margaret Tueller (WSP), Lauren Tennison (Northwind), Dr. Matt Peeples (ASU), Dr. Chris Caseldine (ASU).
