The Tucson office of Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI), a multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting firm, has one full-time, salaried position immediately available for a Laboratory Technician (LT). SRI provides comprehensive cultural resource management services to private and government clients at the federal, state, and local levels throughout the western United States from offices in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington. SRI is a member of the American Cultural Resources Association.
Tasks to be performed by the LT include entering and checking field data into SRI's database; washing and sorting artifacts; processing flotation samples; rebagging, labeling, and tagging artifacts; and the preparation of materials for analysts, testing labs, photography, and curation. The LT will also assist the Laboratory Director with laboratory support duties, including but not limited to assisting with the daily upkeep of company vehicles, preparing and buying equipment for fieldwork, and ordering supplies.
SRI is seeking an individual who has experience using a variety of computer programs, particularly database programs. A successful candidate must possess superior organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and execute new tasks, and legible handwriting. Candidates must also be focused, capable of performing repetitive tasks throughout the workday, and able to lift up to 40 lbs. A bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field is required.
