The AAC wishes to identify a new Editor for the JAzArch. Glen Rice’s term ends 1 January 2019, and he has informed the Editorial Panel that he will not seek a second term. The Editor’s duties include (but are not limited to):

·         Promoting the publication of scholarly research relating to Arizona’s archaeological record;

·         Working with guest editors and peer reviewers to ensure the clarity and accuracy of published articles;

·         Maintaining effective and timely communication with authors and peer reviewers;

·         Working with the Managing Editor to organize the distribution of electronic and printed copies of the journal to subscribers.

The JAzArch Editorial Panel is responsible for selecting the prospective new Editor, after which the candidate must be ratified by the AAC Board. To facilitate the transition between incoming and outgoing editors, an overlap in terms is desired. Thus, the Editorial Panel hopes to identify a new editor well before January. Individuals interested in taking on this challenging position are encouraged to submit a resume and statement of interest to: chris.loendorf@gric.nsn.us by September 28^th, 2018.

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs) has an opening for a Senior Archaeologist/Archaeologist III. This position is classified as a full-time position. Work will be performed from Jacobs’ downtown Phoenix office location. Duties include conducting site file checks at various archaeological repositories throughout Arizona and Nevada; preparing various cultural resources reports (including Class I overviews, Class III survey reports, monitoring reports, and others as-needed); conducting all levels of archaeological fieldwork (including archaeological survey, construction monitoring, testing, data recovery, and historic evaluations); and other tasks as assigned. This position requires preparing detailed field notes and archaeological site records, conducting research, and writing reports.

An M.A. degree or higher in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology is required, and the preferred candidate should demonstrate ability to travel in support of projects located throughout the United States.
