FIELD SUPERVISOR OPENING

Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd., (ACS) a 37-year-old environmental planning firm in Tempe, AZ is seeking to hire a cultural resource Field Supervisor with Arizona experience. To be considered the candidate will:

• have a Master’s degree in Anthropology (Archaeology);
• have a valid driver’s license; and
• have a minimum of two years experience leading monitoring, survey, and excavation projects in Arizona and writing the reports for them.

The duties of this position regularly require fieldwork, both in-town or out-of-town, which would involve standing, walking or climbing into and out of trenches and excavation units, using hands to manipulate items and to lift or carry them, talking, and hearing. They occasionally require crossing uneven terrain, climbing over fences, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching, as well as using hands to manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse, and paper work products. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. All employees must follow established procedures, ask questions when needed, work independently once parameters have been set, and work cooperatively as part of a team, at both the project and company-wide levels.

The pay level is competitive and commensurate with experience. Holiday pay for holidays when the ACS office is closed begins immediately as long as the employee is in paid status the day before and the day after the holiday. Other benefits begin after a three-month introductory period, and include accrual of two weeks paid vacation annually, six days of sick leave, and a significant portion of the employee’s health and dental insurance paid for under the company plan. Participation in a 401(k) program begins after six months employment.
